Queerplan Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Queerplan is operated by Rish Kumar, who is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Questions, privacy requests and complaints can be sent to support@queerplan.com.

Information we process

We process the profile information you provide, including your name, username, biography, Instagram handle and photos; your friendships and crew memberships; events, RSVPs and attendance; safety reports; and technical identifiers needed to operate your account. Sign in with Apple may provide a stable account identifier, name and private relay email.

Why we use it

We process account, profile, friendship, crew, event and attendance information because it is necessary to provide the service you request. We process safety reports, support correspondence and limited security information where necessary for our legitimate interests in keeping Queerplan safe, preventing abuse and responding to users. Where we ask for optional profile information or photos, you choose whether to provide it and may remove it later. We do not sell personal information, show behavioural advertising or track you across other companies’ apps.

Service providers and international processing

Supabase provides authentication, PostgreSQL database, realtime delivery and private file storage. Apple provides Sign in with Apple and App Store distribution. These providers process information under their own security and privacy commitments. Data may be processed outside the UK with legally recognised safeguards.

Visibility

Basic account details are searchable by signed-in users so friends can connect. Rich profiles and plans are limited to friends and friends of friends. Crew information is limited to crew members. Event photos are limited to people marked as attending. Blocking removes social visibility between both accounts.

Retention and deletion

Account, profile, friendship, crew, event, attendance and photo information is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account inside Queerplan under Safety & privacy; the account and associated information are then removed from active systems immediately. Residual copies may remain in encrypted infrastructure backups for up to 30 days before automatic deletion.

Safety reports are normally retained for up to 24 months so we can investigate abuse and identify repeated violations. Support correspondence is normally retained for up to 12 months after the request is closed. Security and authentication logs are normally retained for up to 90 days. A record may be kept longer only when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, comply with law, or protect users from serious abuse; it is deleted when that need ends.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, remove photos, leave crews, change attendance, block people and delete your account in the app. You may ask to access, correct, export or erase information, or object to processing, by emailing support@queerplan.com.

If you are in the UK, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Safety reports

Reports are visible only to the reporter and authorised moderators. They are used to investigate community-standard violations and protect users.
